On 22nd August 1988, Tokojaya entered into a maiden joint venture with a subsidiary of the Sabah Economic Development Corporation to develop a prime land in downtown of Kota Kinabalu City. This comprehensive township with its unique design and concept is known as Api-Api Centre, which now stands prominently as one of the landmarks in the heart of the city.
Tokojaya has since grown from strength to strength; and through its subsidiaries and associated companies, it has diversified into construction, property management, car park operator, hospitality and manufacturing as its core businesses.
